It’s been 5 months since I’ve posted for many reasons. I love pole. I really love pole. I want to get better, but sometimes I just feel like the odds are against me. I keep getting injured and it’s hampering my progress so much that it has actually become more frustrating than fun. I just need to really get my mind right and keep working. 6 months ago I could invert. It wasn’t pretty, but I could do it. I feel like I’m completely starting over, but there somethings I can actually doing pretty well still or even better. For instance, my climb has gotten pretty good. Now I wish I had a higher pole! This pole journey is a roller coaster! Here’s a vid of me working on a Layout. Needs work, but I’m happy with my progress.
My daughter is doing awesome! She got a shoulder mount on the first try so I made her do it again so I could film her! She also got this handspring after working on it for about 15 minutes. She’s pretty awesome and I am so proud of her and her progress. I know this is something that she is going to be very, very good at.
Til next time! (Hopefully sooner than 5 months!)
…is now at Level 2?? THIS girl!! Last night my neighbor and I finally tested out to Level 2. The best part about this is that I already know most of what I need to test out to Level 3, so hopefully by next week I’ll be there! What I really need to work on though is strength. I need to work on my arm, shoulder, core and back strength. At least I have a renewed spirit now. I finally feel like I’m actually getting somewhere.
I also need to work on flexibility so I’m hoping to have time tonight to start my Get Bent DVD. I’m going to take before and after pics on the flexy stuff as I know this is a slow process and we already know that I need to see that progression or I get bummed!
Slacker, slacker, slacker…. Yep! That’s been me. I went to class yesterday after a 2.5 week hiatus. Soooooo glad a I did! My lovely instructor was out and we had a substitute. At first I felt a little bummed because I love her so much, but I did learn some new things and I also spoke with her about testing out. I’m pretty sure I’ll be testing out very soon, now that I’ve explained my one-handed spins concerns with her. First time I’ve had hope on this pole journey in a long time!!
Just a super quick, overdue, update…
P.S. Super sore and have MEGA blisters today, but such a good feeling!
Wow. I’ve been SUCH a slacker on my blog lately. Mostly because I have been pretty discouraged about my whole pole journey. But…. I can now sum up my new found determination in 3 words. Dirty. Girl. Poletice.
Dirty Girl Poletice is a 100% naturally organic, sweat sucking, pre-pole mask that has most definitely changed my outlook on my pole journey. I have complained on here a lot that grip is a continual problem for me and I decided to try this after the Mighty Grip gloves I ordered came in the wrong size. It’s awesome! If any of you “sweaty girls” aren’t sure if this will help, I will just tell you that it helped me completely! I was able work on my one-handed spins the first day I used it and I was even able to invert the second day I used it. Woo-hoo!! I’m using it tonight at class again so we’ll see how it goes.
Wish me luck…
I FINALLY spoke with X-Pole regarding my pole…
- I emailed them a week ago and no one emailed me back so I had to call. Strike 1
- THEN…. they thought I was someone else. Strike 2
- THEN… they though I was someone else again because of my order number. Strike 3!!
UGH! To top it off, since they are not certain that there is anything wrong with it, despite my attempt at a picture, I have to break it down and send that part back for THEM to inspect and possibly send me a new one. I KNOW this process will take them a while with their track record so far, so I’m very sad to know I’ll be without my pole for possibly up to 2 weeks. Kind of regretting not just getting my pink Lil Mynx. *pout*
Anywho… sorry for the rant. My “non-poling” friends do not understand my pole depression. 😦

My daughter and I did make it to class Saturday. I’m not a big fan of Saturday class because it’s an all levels class and I find myself distracted and intimidated. My daughter and I both had major grip issues also, so it was not as fun as I was hoping it would be. Anywho… when we got home, I practiced some more. I’ve been concentrating more on sits and holds because I am having so much trouble spinning lately. I’m already getting to where I can sit and it doesn’t hurt as much, so yay!! I can also climb much better now as well. The chandelier has GOT to go!!
Here are some pics. You see how my grandson decided to practice as well… 🙂
I contacted X-Pole about my pole being weird, but I haven’t heard back from them. Grrrr… I did do some stretching and practice this weekend. I was practicing mostly pole holds since the spins are starting to bore and annoy me. Especially the elusive one-handed variety. I need to start learning something else , because I feel so weak. I feel like every class, I do the same thing over and over so I started working on strength moves and pole holds for some variety.
Hoping to do some practice this weekend as well since I only made it to Monday’s practice and not Wednesday’s. Definitely going tomorrow!!
